Work Stuff!

I got word that one of the things I worked on went to air, as it were, so that means I can post it! FINALLY! Proof that I'm not just sitting on my butt post-graduation.

So without further ado, here's the first full commercial I worked on at Roger, LA:

I think four or five people worked on this, a couple After Effects artists, compositers, and another 3D person. I'll link to their sites as soon as I can find 'em!

Eventho my love will always be modeling, I've had the opportunity to do some little animations for use at my job here in Los Angeles. I did model all the pieces you see below, but they are incredibly low res and I would like to add more detail before posting the wireframes.

Here are the separated out elements that I did for the advert:

Anyone can tell you it's difficult to animate a bird in flight, so this was a really good exercise in how simple I could make the gliding movements while still keeping it believable.
I also did the 'hero' bird that flies through the text, but it's just a variation of a couple of the above moves with a camera move, so I didn't include it.

Unfortunately, the masks were deemed too 'threatening' and 'scary' to use in the final advertisement, so they were cut, and the animation remains slightly rough. Still fun to do though!

The fish were the first things I did for this project, and probably my favorites :) I started with the 'hero' jumper fish and all the others were stretched and contorted off of him.

Last but not least, my man, the turtle. He was added after I cranked out - modeled, rigged, and animated - all those fish (in one day, mind you!) and somebody was like hey, you know what would look REALLY COOL in that scene?? A TURTLE.

...you get used to last-minute add-ons REAL FAST in this biz, apparently.

Anyway, there you have it!
I can't wait til the other things I've done start airing and I can show them off, too :)
